What is Maddie's Lab?
Maddie's Lab is a pack of 25 browser-based tools for working with documents. Instead of buying a separate app for every task — one for receipts, another for PDFs, another for barcodes — you get all 25 in one place, under one login and one plan.
What the tools actually do
The tools fall into five groups. Receipts & invoices tools pull line items, totals, taxes, and vendor names out of photos of receipts and invoices and turn them into CSV or Excel files. Document tools transcribe handwriting, read business cards into spreadsheet rows, and extract wage data from W-2s and W-9s. Image tools convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG, shrink large photos, and bundle images into PDFs. PDF tools merge, split, rotate, watermark, redact, sign, and compare PDFs, convert PDFs to Word, Excel, or images, and make scanned PDFs searchable. Generate tools create barcodes and QR codes.
Who it is for
Bookkeepers and freelancers use the receipt tools to turn a shoebox of paper into a spreadsheet at tax time. Landlords and small business owners use the PDF tools to merge leases, redact sensitive pages, and collect signatures. Anyone with an iPhone uses HEIC to JPG when a website refuses their photo. If your work involves paper, photos of paper, or PDFs, at least one tool here probably saves you an afternoon.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser — there is nothing to install and nothing to download except your finished files. You open a tool, drop in a file, and download the result. Your files are processed and sent back to you; they are not published anywhere or shared with anyone.
Good to know
- Every plan, including the free plan, includes all 25 tools. Plans differ only in how many documents you can process per month.
- The free plan includes 10 documents per month, which resets on the 1st.
- Each file you process counts as one document, no matter which tool you use.
- You need an account to use the tools — sign up with email or Google in about a minute.
- Processing happens on our servers, so even your phone can handle large PDFs and photo batches.
