Watermark PDF

Watermark PDF stamps text across the pages of a PDF — diagonal, centered, or tiled — for marking drafts, claiming ownership, or labeling confidential documents. Quick, consistent, and applied to every page at once.

When to use it

Marking "DRAFT" on documents under review, "CONFIDENTIAL" on sensitive files, your company name on quotes and proposals, or "SAMPLE" on portfolio pieces. Watermarks signal status and ownership at a glance.

How to use it

  1. Open Watermark PDF and upload the PDF.
  2. Type your watermark text ("DRAFT", "Confidential", your company name).
  3. Choose the style: diagonal (classic, across the page), centered (one mark per page), or tiled (repeated pattern).
  4. Adjust size and opacity if offered, preview, and download. One file = one document of quota.

What the output looks like

The original PDF with your text overlaid on every page in light gray (or your chosen opacity) — readable through, but unmistakable. The underlying content is untouched.

Good to know

  • Keep watermarks light. Heavy, dark watermarks make documents hard to read and look unprofessional. 15–25% opacity is the sweet spot.
  • Diagonal watermarks are hardest to crop out; centered ones are the most readable. Tiled works best for "do not copy" deterrence.
  • Watermarks deter casual misuse but don't prevent it — determined recipients can remove them. For real protection, control who gets the file.
  • Watermark the copy you share, not your master. Keep a clean original for final use.
  • Short text works best. A paragraph-long watermark becomes visual noise.
