Split PDF
Split PDF pulls page ranges out of a PDF into separate files, delivered as a tidy ZIP. It's how you extract just the pages you need from a long document without disturbing the original.
When to use it
Pulling your tax pages out of a 200-page financial packet, extracting one chapter from an ebook, separating a combined scan back into individual documents, or sending someone just the relevant pages instead of the whole file.
How to use it
- Open Split PDF and upload the PDF.
- Specify the page ranges: single pages (5), ranges (5–10), or several (1–3, 7, 12–15).
- The tool extracts each range into its own PDF and bundles them into a ZIP.
- Download the ZIP and unzip it. One split job = one document of quota.
What the output looks like
A ZIP file containing one PDF per range you specified, named by page range (e.g. pages-5-10.pdf). Each extracted PDF preserves the original quality, orientation, and text layer.
Good to know
- Page numbers are 1-based: the first page is page 1, not page 0.
- Ranges can overlap — extracting pages 1–5 and 3–7 gives you two files sharing pages 3–5. Useful for context, just be aware of it.
- The original file is never modified. Splitting is read-only on the input.
- Extracted pages keep any text layer, so searchable PDFs stay searchable after splitting.
- For one-off single pages, it's often faster to extract a small range than to split the whole document into many pieces.
