Barcode Generator
Barcode Generator creates scannable barcodes — Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, and more — as downloadable PNG images. Type in your numbers, get a print-ready barcode.
When to use it
Labeling products for retail (UPC-A/EAN-13), tagging inventory or assets (Code 128), creating library or membership cards, or generating barcodes for shipping and warehouse systems. If something needs to scan at a register or with a scanner gun, this makes the barcode.
How to use it
- Open Barcode Generator and choose the barcode format (Code 128 for general use, EAN-13/UPC-A for retail products).
- Enter the numbers or text to encode.
- Download the barcode as a PNG. Each generated barcode = one document of quota.
What the output looks like
A crisp PNG image of the barcode with the human-readable numbers beneath the bars — suitable for printing on labels, packaging, or documents.
Good to know
- Pick the right format. Retail products need EAN-13 (international) or UPC-A (North America) with properly registered numbers. Internal inventory can use Code 128, which encodes more data.
- Retail barcodes aren't just numbers — EAN/UPC numbers must be legitimately assigned to your product (via GS1) or registers may reject them.
- Print at 100% scale or larger. Shrinking a barcode too far makes it unscannable — test-scan every design before a big print run.
- High contrast matters: black bars on white. Fancy colors and busy backgrounds behind barcodes cause scan failures.
- Quiet zones (the blank margins on either side of the bars) are part of the barcode — don't crop them off.
